Our Quality
Our way of manufacturing
All our manufacturing facilities and cooperation sites rely on ISO-certified quality and environmental management and are certified according to international social and ethical standards.
Every tool that leaves our premises is manufactured according to all specifically applicable DIN and ISO standards.
Anyone can do normal — that's why we guarantee at least 25 percent more torque beyond the respective DIN and ISO standard for all our tools.
The 25 percent extra even applies to corrosion protection.
All our torque wrenches are calibrated and certified. Should this no longer be the case, we will recalibrate them (if possible - model dependent).
We take precision further than precise: our jaw width tolerances are set tighter than DIN requires. The range of our hardness values is even more strictly defined than the respective standard.
If needed, you can obtain specific test certificates from the Remscheid Testing and Inspection Institute for our quality hand tools (may incur third-party costs, which will be passed on).
Our Warranty
40-Year Intensive Warranty
Our products are covered by the applicable statutory warranty provisions. In addition, WGB grants the following manufacturer warranties:
WGB THE WERKZEUG
Additional manufacturer warranty of 40 years from the date of purchase. This warranty covers the free replacement of a defect-free tool in the event of a manufacturing or material defect.
WGB BASIC
Additional manufacturer warranty of 10 years from the date of purchase. Here too, in the event of a manufacturing or material defect, the tool will be replaced free of charge with a defect-free product.
Warranty Procedure
In the event of a warranty claim, the affected tool must be sent to our company address together with the original proof of purchase. The receipt must contain the purchase date and the product description. Whether a manufacturing or material defect exists will be determined by an independent testing institute. The result of this examination is binding. Replaced tools become the property of WGB.
Scope of Warranty
The warranty covers all defects in the product that occur during the warranty period and are attributable to manufacturing or material defects at the time of purchase. The warranty is limited to replacement of the product and does not include any further services.
Warranty Exclusions
- Improper or non-intended use of the tool
- Alterations or modifications to the tool
- Non-observance of operating instructions
- Normal wear and tear typical of use
- Unusability of the tool for reasons not attributable to material or manufacturing defects
The replacement delivery under this warranty is free of charge but does not constitute an extension or restart of the warranty period. This warranty applies to products purchased within the European Union. The buyer's statutory warranty rights and other legal rights remain unaffected by this warranty.

Our History
IRON IS OUR DNA
Founded as Westfaelische Stollen- und Schraubenfabrik Breckerfeld, the company was registered one year later under the WSB brand in the Imperial Trade Register — as a manufacturer of ironware for the daily needs of the rural population.
With advancing industrialisation, a new production line of iron commodities was established. The first wrenches were manufactured under the new name Westfaelische Gesenkschmiede Breckerfeld (WGB).
Based on our long-standing forging experience and using modern technology, we developed the standard for the wrench model that is still in use today.
WGB became a family member of the VONZITZEWITZ Group together with our sister company Carl Walter, headquartered in Wuppertal. From day one until today: family-owned mid-sized enterprise.
Over 110 years after founding, we position ourselves as a know-how specialist with a comprehensive range of quality tools for all fastening applications. Regular market analyses, dialogue with our customers and business partners, as well as professional and entrepreneurial development ensure our ability to adapt to market conditions and specific customer requirements. Now and in the future.
Our Environmental Contribution
WGB FOR FUTURE
Packaging
We consciously avoid plastic wherever possible. No blister packaging, no plastic hangers. Everything is made of or on cardboard — but never flimsy. Where plastic is unavoidable, we avoid microplastics.
Transport
We avoid unnecessary transports by maximally bundling shipments between our manufacturing sites and warehouses. We also minimise fragmented partial deliveries — every package not shipped counts.
Energy
We heat exclusively with geothermal energy and generate our own electricity — with 2,000 square metres of photovoltaic panels on our warehouse roof.
Our Social Responsibility
HAVE A HERZ
Social responsibility has literally made school with us — years ago. Near our manufacturing site in Jaipur, in the Indian state of Rajasthan, we operate our own educational facility: the Marino Wahoe School in Kukus.
With our support, 65 children aged two to 14 from the lowest social classes are taught on site. In their own rooms, with their own teacher and their own materials — WGB also stands for 'Really Great Education'.
Since the first groundbreaking of the project, we have rolled up our sleeves and also got the ball rolling on special projects: we organised a minibus to enable children from surrounding rural areas to get to school.
The Marino Wahoe School is a matter of the heart for us. And because you should always follow your heart, we visit in person once or twice a year.
